Cidco is contemplating ticket entry to central park , Kharghar that is designed on lines of The Hyde park London. The entry ticket is more of an awareness attempt , so that visitors behave sensibly and responsibly because destruction of statues at some theme parks were reported.
The ticket is aimed at ensuring that the visitors keep the place clean and destruction free by shelling out a small amount. Sample of visitors staying in node welcomed the move.
The 37 hectares out of 80 hectares is open for public and could be the biggest green zone in the city meant for recreational purpose with trees and shrubs , where weekdays footfall could be 5000 on an average , while weekend a high of 10,000 to 15,000 .
Cidco is on the look out for an agency that would operate and maintain the park, attending to green foliage , the facility building in the park besides other routine work . As only two had bid , Cidco extended the bidding period. A minimum of three bidders are required to tender the project . If after the third time tendering , there were two bidders then Cidco would go ahead as per the central vigilance office norms.
Cidco spend Rs 35 crore on its development and the park was thrown open to public in 2010.
