The RORO project planned by Cidco, Bombay Port Trust , and MMB (Maharashtra Maritime Board) that will provide water transport from the City to Mumbai and Raigad is targeted to be ready by March End .
The water transport services are expected to start soon after as the work on other water terminal is completed . The Nerul project will be the first to be completed. The water transport has been planned from Nerul to Bhaucha Dhakka and Nerul and Rewas Mandwa .A water terminal is being developed at Bhaucha Dhakka by BPT , MMB is developing Mandwa in Raigad and Cidco is building the Nerul terminal.
In November 2016 , Cidco called for tenders for the Nerul jetty , which was then awarded for Rs 111 Crore and work order issued . The union goernment ministry in November 2017 gave the green signal for the construction of jetty with subsequent environment permissions coming in 2018. BPT will spend Rs 30 crore on Jetty work.
