Six lane kopri rail overbridge work to begin after 13 years

THANE: After a delay of over a decade , the work on the widening of the Kopri rail overbridge began on 21st may, after chief minister (CM) Devendra Fadnavis laid the foundation stone on 21st may. The overbridge at Koper connects Thane to  Mumbai via the eastern express highway. The two-lane bridge will be widened to a six -lane bridge by constructing two new lanes on each side.

The Mumbai Metropolitian  Regional  Development Authority (MMRDA) in the first 18 months, two new lanes  on either side of the bridge will be widened. In the next 18 months, the  two existing lanes will be demolished & reconstructed. The Thane Municipal Corporation to complete the work on the diversion soon, so part of the traffic can be diverted.
